"Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light
will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will
be as bright as noon. The Lord will guide you continually, giving
you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be
like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring."
(Isaiah 58:10-11)

Operation Blessing
2007: Dominican Republic
In the fall of 2007, Calvary Christian
Fellowship, Inc. embarked on a mission trip to the Dominican
Republic. There is a great need in the Dominican Republic and
Calvary wanted to be an agent of change. Partners' finances helped
send food and clothing to the Dominican Republic and help the
mission organizer, Helen Fuentes, go on this trip. Food, clothing,
finances, and spiritual ministry was brought to those in need in the
southeast region of the Dominican Republic, namely in and around the
municipality of Santo
Domingo Este (East Santo Domingo) in the Santo Domingo province.
Due to numerous food donations and
financial support Operation Blessing in the Dominican Republic was a
great success. As God is a faithful and a good God, eighty families
were blessed with food bags in the mountain villages of the Chacon; Consuelo
in the San Pedro de Macorís province; Santo
Domingo Este in the Santo Domingo province; and an area near Mango
Limpio in the Monte Plata province. A van was able to be
rented to take the team deep into the mountains and to places where
there are no services availbe to these communites. Driving daily
though the Duarte and Bosch bridges, crossing the Rio Ozama (Ozama
River) clothing and shoes were also given to twenty-five families.
Along with bags of food, senior citizens of Consuelito were given
slippers, t-shirts, and lady day dresses. The worn and tired faces of
the elderly and their families turned into happiness; they were filled
with joy and surprise when they received these gifts. The families in
these areas are in much need of the basic necessities that sometimes
we take advantage of. We thank God that Calvary was able to make a
difference, even if it was for a few days.
